Introduction:
Since the foundation of ITech Consult AG in 1997, we have continually extended our network of freelance computer experts. Today, we can fall back on around 20,000 qualified IT specialists (developers, system experts, project managers, support technicians and more).
Roles:
. Work with biologists and bio-informaticians in the respective biology research groups to understand their lab processes, data flow and data analysis needs
. Define and integrate informatics solution(s) based on the existing application portfolio to meet the research needs
. Identify gaps in the informatics solutions and build tools to close these gaps
. Provide training and user documentation to small groups of scientists and collaborate with the Adoption & Awareness group to develop and deliver training for large user groups
. Implement and deliver integrated solution(s) in collaboration with internal and/or external software development teams to provide end-to-end solutions for the research projects
. Work as a member of a global team to ensure that the solutions meet the research requirements
Requirements:
. B.Sc. (or equivalent higher education) in Biology and/or Bioinformatics or in a similar discipline
. Extensive experience working in a biomedical research environment, either in a pharmaceutical, academic or biotech organization, with excellent understanding of the target discovery (identification and validation) and biologics drug discovery process and data
. Experience with supporting pharmacology, pathology, antibody screening and/or cellular screening research projects with informatics solutions
. Excellent understanding of the respective research lab processes and their informatics needs
. Proven capability interacting with biologists in a complex global research organization
. Excellent understanding and practical experience integrating enterprise components to deliver end-to-end solutions for specific research processes
. Experience with rapid prototyping and Agile software development methodologies
. Knowledge of web architecture and technologies ( eg PHP)
. Knowledge and experience with SQL and relational databases
. Experience implementing and consuming web services (SOAP/REST)
. Fluency in English (oral/written)
