Job Description:
Our client is looking for a software engineer to support their team on a limited contractor basis for a half a year.
Being the golden source for financial reporting in the investment bank, CMIS consumes revenue data from all relevant IB front-end booking and settlement systems, and passes the data through a complex ETL process, presenting the results to consuming applications through a set of data marts.
The Client Advisory IT team maintains the CMIS warehouse embedded in the IB's system environment, supporting and developing business requirements to ensure an efficient and accurate BA reporting.

The main focus of the role will be a specific IT "change-the-bank" project. In a first step a dedicated revenue load (ETL process) must be optimized and enriched with additional data sources.
In a second step the revenue load should be rewritten to source from a different providing system.

You will work closely together with other IT specialists on the Client Advisory IT team as well as with business analysts from the financial reporting team.
Supporting the analysts from an IT perspective, the project has to be implemented within a short timeframe and therefore requires a very structured approach, the ability to operate in a complex system environment, and the understanding of complex data dependencies and process flows.

Requirements:
The following key technical skills are required for the role:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a university or technical institute in the area of computer science or information systems
Software engineering experience, preferably in the finance industry (minimum 3 years)
Database application development using Sybase ASE version 15
A firm understanding of data warehouse modelling concepts, including the development of custom ETL logic
Solid knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL application development
The following skills are also considered advantageous for the role:
Experience with source code control systems (e.g. Subversion or ClearCase) and controlled build environments
Experience with application configuration under UNIX/Linux
Korn or Bash script development
Familiarity with any of the following tools or technologies: Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, AutoSys, Perl script development.
Good English language skills, in particular the ability to have professional technical discussions in English with system engineers and business analysts
The ability to work independently and take ownership of project requirements from start to finish
Able to work in a fast paced environment and adhere to strict deadlines
The ability to work effectively in a team
