Our Investment banking client is looking for a Storage Specialist, the role will be Lead role to participate in infrastructure projects with third Level Support of EMC VMAX, HDS VSP and Netapp with regional and global counterparts. Know how of Commvault would also be useful.
The full description:
- Know-how on Windows Server, Linux, Solaris, SQL and Storage (SAN/NAS)
- Experience building Servers on ESX platform
- Architecture knowledge of virtual infrastructure
- Self-consistent, assertive and approachable
- Ideally you worked in global enterprise organisation already
- Well knowledge in Service Offering of Virtual Infrastructure
- Understanding of HP & DELL blades and chassis hardware
- Understanding of networking concept
- Understanding of backup and recovery of VMs
- Individual is expected to have strong technology skills, good communication and documentation skills, and strong troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of concepts, principles and practices of system administration
- Good command of English and German (optional), written and spoken
- High motivation in automation
- Good (excellent) Scripting skills
- Individuals with financial services industry experience are highly desirable
- Very good written and spoken German
- Knowledge of IT security
Role Description:
- Lead/participate in infrastructure projects
- Third Level Support of EMC VMAX, HDS VSP and Netapp with regional and global counterparts
- Understand business priorities; adequately prioritize work accordingly to meet business objectives.
- Drive for improvements and implement them in regional or global scale.
- Communicate and collaborate with other internal partners for designing, planning and coordinating for implementation and ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
- You will be expected to drive the execution of innovative solutions.
- Write/update technical documentations for related infrastructure and installs which will include, but not limited to, the following technologies:
- ENV: SAN, NAS and Backup
- HW: EMC VMAX, EMC ISILON, HDS VSP, Cisco MDS and Netapp Filer
- OS: NXOS, Ontap, oneFS
- Regular on-call support during weekdays and weekends is required
Basics:
- At least 5 years experience in supporting Storage environment in a large environment.
- Posses excellent verbal and written communication skills. In German, English would be an advantage.
- Solid understanding of a Storage System like EMC VMAX, HDS VSP and Netapp is required.
- Also knowledge of virtualisation technologies, such as VMware is required
- Skills with some at least 2 of the following products are mandatory:
EMC VMAX
EMC Isilon
Cisco MDS SAN Switch
HDS VSP
Netapp
- Ability to write scripts in administrative languages (for examples. Tk, Perl, ksh, sh, csh)
- Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing and storage environment concepts and technologies - LAN, WAN, routing protocols, NFS, DNS, NIS, LDAP, SAN, NAS, Fibre Channel, etc.
- Very good written and spoken English
- Good communication skills and ability to work in the team
- Ability to prioritize own workload on a daily basis
