Our investment bank client is looking for a UNIX administrator (Sun Solaris/RHEL) to provide 3rd level support for 10000+ Unix Servers globally but primarily concentrating on the local server estate.
You will be business aligned and will be required to the business to discuss requirements, project work and plans. You will implement larger, more complex service requests, eg O/S installations, configs, upgrades, server moves, etc. You will be involved the Unix on-call rota for Switzerland. You will also need to write technical documentation from time to time.
Detailed knowledge and expertise of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Solaris (Sun cluster) infrastructure, load balancing, clustering, network & host security, and relevant protocols (SMTP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, NFS)
Expertise with Volume management and file systems
Knowledge of Storage (for example, Veritas Cluster Server, or Veritas Volume Manager)
Understanding of virtualisation technologies, for example - ESX, HyperV, vSphere
Multiple platform familiarity, eg, Grid, Internet, Client Server
Confident Scripting knowledge (Shell and/or Perl)
Reporting Services
Fluency in English is essential German is useful but not essential.
