On behalf of our client in the Life Science industry, Harvey Nash is looking for a professional Database Engineer for a 6 month project in Switzerland.
The role is about planning and executing all database-related activities, developing and implementing system concepts, including concepts for cross-platform distributed databases.
You are responsible for
planning and monitoring the database applications and defining the system requirements. appointing the database architectures classifying and describing the data realizing the database concept based on data models specifying, implementing and maintaining databases elaborating and realizing backup, reorganisation and restart procedures for databases evaluating, testing and implementing of appropriate data management tools optimizing the database access creating migration plans for upgrades or changes to other database software consulting and supporting the system- and application development in regard to logical concept, database technique and database operation Project requirements
Collect all the information in the Security Exceptions, parse the data from MS Word documents and Excel into a new Database Contact all the Exceptions business owners to verify the mitigation controls and renew or remove the expired exceptions Consolidated Database: 5 weeks to have a new Database with all the Security Exceptions consolidated Security Exceptions update: 18 weeks to have all the Exceptions renewed or deleted in collaboration with the business owners Consolidated Excel document with the information from all Security Exceptions Database with all the information of the Security Exception and ability to generate reports by every field and date of expiration Technical design and technical support documentation of the database designed The Database will be integrated with Active Directory Requirements
Hands-on experience designing databases with Microsoft SQL or MySQL is a must Microsoft Active Directory troubleshooting and operation experience is a plus Hands-on experience with MS Windows 2003 and 2008 Microsoft Excel knowledge Hands-on experience parsing text/Excel files with regex. Knowledge in related lagnguages is a plus (TCL, Perl, Python, etc.) Good coordination and project management skills is a must.
