On behalf of our client, an interesting international company, we are currently looking for an Active Directory & Windows Consultant. This role is a full time contract position based for 6 months in Zurich and a suitable candidate is supposed to start as soon as possible. Responsibilities:
The Windows & Active Directory Systems Engineer will perform such tasks as:
- Implement, maintain, and upgrade as needed, the virtual and physical Servers powering the corporate data infrastructure consisting of Microsoft Windows and Active Directory (2008 R2), Exchange 2010, SQL 2008, and Sharepoint 2010. This includes, but is not limited to, applications, services, Servers, management tools, performance tools, and security across the board.
- Plan, install, configure, secure, and maintain:
- Microsoft Server 2003, 2008, and 2012 in a Client Server environment.
- Microsoft Exchange 2010 in an Enterprise environment spanning multiple sites and Active Directory Trees.
- Microsoft SQL in an Enterprise environment spanning multiple sites.
- Network and application monitoring systems.
- Server clusters and clustered applications.
- Storage area networking (SAN) infrastructure.
- Server virtualization infrastructure. (VMware ESX, Hyper-V, etc.)
- Backup & recovery of server environments. (Disk-based and tape-based.)
- Schedule and coordinate server and network hardware maintenance windows with support personnel and end users.
- Monitor capacity and performance of all environments, including Windows Servers and VMWare hosts.
Key Qualifications:
Most suitable candidates have various additional skills such as Unix, Linux, Redhat, Windows, Active Directory, Sharepoint, SAN, MS SQL, Cisco, Hitachi, HP, Trading, Sybase, Citrix, Vmware, Exchange, Firewall, Backup (the more of these skills, the better)
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience in system administration or engineering with direct contact with customer and end-users.
- 3+ years experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Applications
- 3+ years experience with virtualization
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is desirable.
