Our client needs a Data Center Backup & Recovery Architect to ensure that Backup and Recovery architecture is developed and maintained.
Responsibilities will include:
- Ensure backup & recovery architecture is developed and maintained
- Ensure data centers have solutions capable of achieving availability targets
- Manage the definition, evaluation, sizing and standardisation of all backup & recovery hardware and systems software in the data centers
- Ensure alignment of Backup & Recovery strategy with SAP database architecture for scalability, performance and availability
- Ensure availability of quality documentation
- Be accountable for the end-to-end compliance of the implementation to the standards
- Recommend new solutions based on latest technologies and best practices available on the market
- Drive the backup & recovery solution, as part of the whole datacentre design, towards continuous availability, reduced complexity and improved manageability.
Candidates must have the following skills and experience:
- Tape Storage (IBM)
- TSM server
- SAN infrastructure (Brocade)
- Disk Storage subsystems (IBM, HP, HDS, EMC)
- De-duplication technologies
- Unix Shell Scripting (ksh)
- Operating systems (AIX, Windows)
- Networks
- Databases (DB2, MS-SQL)
- Project management
- ITIL
- Fluent English, French would be an advantage
This is a contract position with an international client for just over 12 months in the first instance, with the possibility for extension depending on performance and team priorities. The client is located minutes from Lake Geneva, on the Swiss Riviera and close to Lausanne. Info-Tech will provide advice and support through your relocation if you are working in Switzerland for the first time.
