Required DW/BI Testing Skills- Should be able to write SQL statements involving complex joins and grouping
- Should be able to understand the data model
- Should be able to create test plan based on Mapping document
- Ability to test at least one ETL (like Informatics or Data Stage) or BI tool (like BO or Crystal Reports)
- Ability to use a testing management tool
Required Application Testing Skills
- Should be able to differentiate the different testing phases like Unit Integration, System, Acceptance, Regression testing and should be capable to perform these tests with the help of ready-test cases.
- Should understand Test Plans, Requirement Traceability Matrix, and Orthogonal Array Tool
- Should be able to do metrics analysis and reliability analysis effectively with DFA tool.
Required Knowledge of Testing Tools
- Able to use Quality Center(QC) at an user level.
- Understanding of all the navigation and features in QC.
- Ability to use QC as a Test management tool.
Knowledge of Database Engineering
- Basic concepts of Database, such as SQL queries, triggers, functions and procedures.ODBC and JDBC concepts.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL applications involving ODBC/JDBC and Embedded SQL.
- Basic understanding of ODBC and JDBC drivers.
- Knowledge of various database components and their relations.
- Basic understanding of plans and the impact of SQL queries on the plans generated Database internals, inter-modular interactions and dependencies of various database components.
- Knowledge of RDBMS Concepts, overview of RDBMS engine architecture, Storage access basics, Performance improvement techniques.
