Software Engineer/Web Engineering (IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat)
The Web Engineering team has a requirement for an experienced IT professional who has a broad knowledge of Java Enterprise Application technology on various underlying OS platforms.
The Web Engineering Team is part of the Architecture & Engineering department and is responsible for the engineering and service design of Enterprise Application Server technologies worldwide. The Web Engineering team provide fully engineered and platform specific adopted enterprise Application Server products and infrastructure services for our customers on the business application side.
Our focus lies thereby on so-called Managed Services which provide complete frameworks surrounding the specific Application Server product with enhanced availability, fully integrated monitoring solutions and enhanced feature set.
To strengthen the team, we are looking for an experienced system engineer with senior skills in the Enterprise Application Server technology area. You're familiar with various Application Server products (such as IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, as well as related products including Apache Web Server and IHS) on several platforms like Solaris x86, Solaris SPARC, Linux as well as Windows server.
You're also experienced with architectural strategies in various environments and are keen to find the right solutions for any business application needs. Lifecycle management and defining roadmaps will be additional parts of your work.
You'll be working on engineering tasks, architectural and strategic topics as well as in consulting and project management areas. We strongly believe in the strength of the team and an open and friendly atmosphere to be key for success.
- Given the diverse organization with staff across the entire world good communication skills as well as cultural awareness are key success factors.
- 5+ years' experience and strong technical skills on senior level in the Enterprise Application Server area.
- 5+ years' experience and strong technical skills on various Operating Systems and platforms
- 5+ years system engineering and -architecture experience
- Advanced Project Management skills
- Fluent English in written and spoken form
