Austin Fraser are working with one of their top clients based in Zurich. This is a really exciting opportunity for a Network Operations Professional (SDH/WDM) to work for their Transport Trx within the Service Assurance EMEA Organization
The Network Operations Professional is responsible for 2nd level operation, maintenance and technical problem solving in customer live SDH/WDM/Metro Ethernet systems/Network.
The Network Operations Professional interacts with the Global NOC and is part of a cross country operations team in EMEA.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
*2nd level Incident and Problem Management: Investigate, isolate and drive SDH/WDM Network and/or product problems reported by customer to closure.
*Configuration Management:
*Execute work orders to a apply configuration changes and implement services;
Plan, schedule, and coordinate activities with technical personnel from customer and telco partners;
*Perform Emergency Support covering 24x7 network outage and service degradation restoration;
*Maintain interfaces with customer's and partner's technical personnel ensuring smooth information flow about reported problems and their resolution status as well as other activities with customer;
*Maintain and improve interfaces with technical personnel from other multi-regional groups and organizations involved with Technical Support (Customer Advocates, Call Center, Logistics, 3rd party First line Maintenance or 3rd party Technical Support Centers and Product Houses);
*Develop and advertise quality procedures, working instructions and quality metrics.
Key Skills and Qualifications
*Degree/Diploma, related to telecommunications, electronics, informatics or equivalent relevant experience.
*Relevant experience in a telecoms operation Environment: must have deep knowledge in SDH/WDM/Metro Ethernet network topology, Equipment and Management system from Alcatel-Lucent OMSN portfolio, Huawei DWDM and Ericsson Traffic Node;
*Good knowledge in network fault/performance/configuration management tools.
*Analytical mind with good problem solving skills and able to work independently;
*Good communications and documentation skills:
English fluent in spoken and written German and French is a plus.
*Team player in a multicultural environment, with a flexible, positive and creative attitude.
