For our customer we are looking for a

Software Engineer

Your responsibilities:
This position is within the software development team and will be responsible for designing and implementing shared "Big Data" environment. This is a fast paced environment leveraging industry leading technologies such as Hadoop/MapReduce/HBase/Pig/Hive on Linux to build high-performance scalable distributed computing applications for large data sets.

Required Skills:

  • Strong computing fundamentals, distributed computing background preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • 6+ years of software development experience in a UNIX environment
  • 5+ years coding experience using Java
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and life cycle
  • Knowledge of design patterns in software engineering
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies, especially agile development methodologies

    Desired Skills:

  • Experience with application development on the Apache Hadoop technology stack (incl. Hadoop, Pig, Hive)
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies, particularly MySQL/Oracle and Apache HBase/Cassandra
