For my client based in Zürich I am looking for a PROJECT MANAGER

Location: Zurich Switzerland

Start: 01.07.12

Duration: 6 months Contract

What is required:
Role Overview:
For the Cash & Custody business at this bank, billing and reporting are the most important basic services for this client segment (banks, pension funds, external asset managers, etc.). The current billing and reporting options require approx. 30 interfaces with more than 170 data feeds (eg interface with the safekeeping and delivery application, SWIFT Message Broker, HOST master data). Most delivery applications do not have automatic interfaces, meaning a manual download is required every month when billing and reporting services are needed. All billing functionalities will be replaced until end of Q2/2012. In a second phase we will upgrade and optimize the technical components of the reporting engine.

As the Project Manager for the second phase you will be responsible to develop project guidelines, to obtain business and information technology sponsor approvals and to plan and coordinate the resources necessary to successfully complete the project. You act as single point of contact for all project suppliers and ensure an adequate and this banks compliant project execution, in particular:
- Define, collect, monitor and analyze project metrics: cost, time, quality, risk, testing, communication, etc. and manage project performance to meet project objectives
- Manage and align with our internal services providers change requests and integrate impacts into plans
- Identify and manage communication to all project stakeholders
- Identify and manage risks to the project
- Identify and manage issues, ownership and resolutions
- Plan and optimize utilization of allocated project resources
- Ensure compliant project execution along with our solution delivery policies
- Run project status meetings, monitor project progress on regular basis and communicate the project status report to all stakeholders

Key project deliverables are:
- Upgrade software (Windows 2000, Batch-Scripts, IBM DataStage, Business Objects).
- Ensure Windows 7 compatibility for different currently used MS Access DBs.
- Database migration (Oracle 10 to Oracle 11)
- Setup recovery and failover for the reporting engine.
- Provide technical documentation and training.
- Move application serves to secure server zone.

What Skills you require:
- PMP or IPMA B certified in Project Management, with at least 8 years' experience in Project Management within a large organization, some of them in a similar position.
- Very strong communication and presentation skills up to senior management level in German and English required. The integration of different teams is a major challenge.
- Formal training in CMMI and experience with IT project processes is a clear advantage.
- Excellent negotiation skills, strategic thinking, proactive, goal oriented and persistent work style are required.
- In order to be successful, the candidate should have an affinity to technical IT projects and a good understanding of Data Ware House concepts and technologies.
