Positionis near Zurich, Switzerland. Your ideal start date would be June 1 st ,2012.
The mainfocus of this position is to lead cross functional teams to develop and deliverprojects in Process Science and/or Technology required to achieving ourbusiness goals.
KEYRESPONSIBILITIES (Key focus areas: Global Technical Services):
1. Business Development (estimated10 % of time): As a technical/process science Subject Matter Expert in PLCTtechnologies, participate in due diligences related to assessing potentiallicensing or acquisition of new products and/or new assets. Facilitate thetechnical integration of newly acquired businesses
2. Product Sourcing & Network /Manufacturing Asset Optimization (estimated 50 % of time): Assessfeasibility of opportunities, develop business cases, project scoping anddelivery of project plans utilizing her/his knowledge and competencies ofprocess science & technology, GMP and EH&S compliance, regulatoryrequirements worldwide and financial and business impact
3. Post Launch Technical Life Cycle Management (estimated15 % of time): Develop and deploy advanced knowledge on products and processes,primary containers and related administration devices, including bio and convergenttechnologies. Own the Drug Product Technical Ownership of new (post launch) andlegacy products
4. PLCT Strategy and Platform Standardization (estimated10 % of time): Develop and deploy technical/process standards and guidelinesfor our internal and external manufacturing network
5. Drive Excellence in Manufacturing Operations (estimated15 % of time): Provide advanced knowledge of new technologies, best practices,expertise in risk management and strong leadership to drive processimprovements in the manufacturing network (both internal and external). Establish benchmark-driven goals and provide direction and oversight to achievebreakthrough performance. Examples include improved compliance, yield, product/process robustness, reduction of footprint, WIP & inventory levels,manufacture cycle time, waste, implementation of real time continuous testingetc.
QUALIFICATION
- University/Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy or Chemistry or Equivalent (preferred), or
- University/Bachelors Degree in engineering complemented with extensive experience in (applied) process sciences
- 10+ years related experience overall with past proven field experience in the following areas:
- Manufacturing of Liquids and Semi-Solids dosage forms including primary packaging (must)
- Manufacturing of Parenteral dosage forms incl. primary packaging for small/large molecules (must)
- Manufacturing of Transdermals dosage forms (patches) including Primary packaging (asset)
- Technology Transfer Process including process development, process characterization, process validations, Stability (SDP/SMP) and or cleaning validation (must)
- Equipment specification, installation, commissioning and qualification (asset)
- Quality Assurance & Regulatory compliance know how (asset)
- Operational / Process Excellence / Lean Manufacturing (asset)
· Proficiency in English and basic knowledgein German (written and spoken)
· Good MS Office knowledge
