Test & Quality Manager

For my client based in Zürich Switzerland I am looking for a TEST/QUALITY MANAGER for a 6 Month Contract

Location: Zürich

Start: 1 July 2012

Duration: 6 months

Language: English required German a plus

To work as a test manager in the project context including the full test management and planning, test case design, and oversight of test case execution, documenting and entering defects. All tasks as described in the standard processes of Testing Services Switzerland.

Skills REQUIREMENTS Mandatory

- Degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology
- Testing certification as a test engineer (e. g. ISTQB Certified Tester - Foundation Level)
- Project management skills
- Knowledge of financial products and their workflows in a Private Banking or Investment Banking environment
- Work experience/knowledge with HP Quality Center
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and international environment
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently
- Good communications skills (written and oral)
- Good time management skills
- Ability to work with individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
- Fluent in English
- Willing to go the extra mile

Optional Details:

- At least 1 years working experience in a test management role, including knowledge of testing standards and approaches
- Knowledge of order routing systems
- Testing certification as a test manager (e. g. ISTQB Certified Tester - Test Manager)
- Experience in leadership and managing of teams
- Knowledge of SQL, UNIX, SVN
- Understanding of developer tasks
- Knowledge of CMMi
- Fluent in German

- Close and cooperative collaboration with the IT project manager and other members of the project (B-PL, DEV) to work towards successful delivery of the project/program
- Perform the necessary follow-through when chasing up issues
- Ensure good communication channels are maintained with other key areas within the project, in particular with the developer team
- Coordination to ensure that all forms of test resources (hardware, manpower, etc) are in place
- Overall coordination and responsibility for all testing activities
- Supervise the activities of the testing team during the life cycle (test designs, test execution, clean up)
- Delivery on time, budget and quality
- Responsible for the overall development and definition of test strategy, test plans, and othernecessary documentation in the testing phase of a project or change request
- Execution and Coordination of SIT, UAT
- Ensure the appropriate level of testing is completed to identify and resolve or escalate any issues
- Review of test entry/exit criteria to ensure that they are met before promotion to the next test/project phase
- Close management and tracking of bugs during test execution phase
- Provide effective monitoring and reporting of test progress
- Participate in the reviews of project deliverables where mandated as per internal process
- Ensure adherence to the defined testing process such that no audit points can be raised from non- conformances
- Using best practice and improve the testing processes
- Assist in the definition, deployment, gathering and review of quality indicators relevant to testing and the testing methods in the department
- Extend the understanding of business and IT strategies, drivers and processes in the testing group
- Coordinate internal knowledge sharing sessions
- Secure approval of relevant testing deliverables from stakeholders
