for a Network Engineer
Description
This Banking Service Center is an IT-outsourcing service provider for banking customers, demanding extraordinary qualifications and the highest security standards. A broad service portfolio for banks in Switzerland is offered. The objective of the customer is to become the specialized service provider for the financial industry in the coming years.
Responsibility
• Configuration, management and operating of all installed Routers and Switches at the BSC Campus and at Customers Networks
• Configuration, management and operating of the VoIP infrastructure
• Understands a broad spectrum of Network Security Solutions in order to provide part or all of a detailed technical design which meets customer requirements
• Capacity planning and reporting
• 2nd and 3rd level support with incident management and Problem resolution
• High availability fast standby support (7x24h)
• Engineering and development of new solutions for the customer
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• experience in the banking or financial industry are a plus.
• Preference to candidates who have advanced training and certification in networking (i.e. Cisco CCNA or equivalent experience).
Knowledge and Skills
• In-depth knowledge of network switching and routing protocols and Internet troubleshooting techniques (Layer1 to Layer3)
• Knowledge of routers, L2/L3 switches, high availability, content switches, load balancers
• Working knowledge of information security products and techniques would be a plus
• Familiar with packet sniffing/decoding and replay tools (i.e. Sniffer, Ethereal, Packetizer, TCPdump, TCPreplay)
• Cisco, H3C, switches and router knowledge
• Cisco IOS, Cisco Works
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux/Windows
Other Competencies
• You are distinguished by high operational readiness, independence and flexibility
• You work methodically, target-oriented and very reliable
• Excellent communications and strong written and verbal skills in English and German. French would be a plus
