On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Java Solution Architect for a permanent or contract position based in Geneva, Switzerland.
Summary of Job Purpose:
- Ensure overall application architecture at a detailed (eg including objects re-use) and global level (eg web services re-use)
- Provide guidance to the developers.
- Provide reports to highlight code rationalization and objects re-use.
Key Accountabilities:
- Strong Java Application Architecture and design in Java/J2EE experience
- Leads the solution design form an onsite perspective
- Providing a baseline set of design artefacts for use by developer and engineers during construction.
- Technical onsite contact for all technical aspects within functional streams
- Provides guidance to application architects to ensure that custom development is compliant with architecture standards and strategy
- Actively drives solution architecture independent of project constraints
- Ensures all viable options are objectively considered and appropriately balances the business needs, technical architecture, and project constraints.
- Ensures all solutions drive simplification and standardization through the effective use of design patterns and reuse of technology.
- Designs solutions that effectively meet the performance, extensibility, integration, capacity, and accessibility needs of applications.
- Assists in the development of architectural design patterns.
Must Have:
- Exposure to Complex application development projects using Java/J2EE frameworks.
- Familiar with solution architecture work using the following: - Swing, Hibernate, Spring, Groovy Grails Framework, JBoss Envers and Web services
- Strong in communicating with client's stake holders & internal project team members who may be remotely located
- Good team player and experience in working as part of a geographically dispersed project team
- Experience in developing the solution by taking into account the Legacy system with which the new solution will need to be interfaced
- Develop the solution by taking into account the existing technical environment in which the new solution will be integrated
- Ensure feasibility of the solution from a technical but also qualitative perspective.
