Oracle database administration, maintenance & on going day-to-day operations support including installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup and recovery. This position is based in Basel supporting a major Pharmaceuticals company.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
The ideal candidate must have experience in:
- Installing, configuring & patching Oracle software versions 10g & 11g
- Installing, configuring & patching Oracle RAC 10g/11g
- Upgrading Oracle software version from 10g to 11g
- Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management) installation, configuration & administration
- Backing up and restoring Oracle databases using RMAN
- Oracle Data Guard
- Oracle Streams
- Partitioning
- Organise/perform support and troubleshooting of Oracle Database Server and Oracle products
- Performance analysis and fine tuning of databases/applications.
- Oracle 11g Grid OEM for administration, monitoring & performance analysis of Oracle instances
- Working knowledge of Linux & Windows Operating Systems
- Unix Shell/Perl Scripting
- Working collaboratively in a team environment
- Working in cross-functional project teams
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Database Vault, Audit Vault, Data Masking
- Real Application Testing
- Advanced compression
- GoldenGate
- Oracle Enterprise Gateway
- Microsoft SQL Server database administration
- Oracle Data Integrator (ELT tool)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum education/experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, computer science, engineering or mathematics
- At least 6 years experience in oracle 10g/11g database administration in a production environment
- At least 3 years experience in database programming, IT Operations, or application development
