Technical Architect required, to work on a project within a major pharmaceutical in Switzerland.
Main Tasks:
A Technical Architect concentrates on an IT-solution's main pillars and components, their externally visible properties as well as relationships. Main focus are the qualitative aspects (aka: non-functional capabilities) of the given IT-solution. Works as part of a team to develop internal security infrastructure for business enterprises.
The Technical Architect is responsible for IT-solution architecture & design, supporting and consulting in the context of solution implementation as well as hand-over to operations/production.
Main Skills:
The Technical Architect role requires subject matter expertise in the following areas: Firewalls, Internet gateways, AV, VM, SIEM, IDS/IPS, EIP (DLP), and NAC. Beyond these the Technical Architect must understand security best practices in a large globally diverse and GxP/SOX environment using multiple platforms (Wintel/UNIX/Linux/Mobile devices). Last but not least a Technical Architect should have a generalist attitude, be methodical and be able to integrate multiple different viewpoints and perspectives into an adequate, well balanced, and holistic big picture.
From the point of view of functional capabilities the Technical Architect's main contribution is to functionally decompose the IT-solution (ie its architecture) in a way that allows easy re-assembly of appropriate components so that they serve slightly different business needs (ie reusability), as well as to support extensibility and changeability.

Location: Basel - Switzerland
Duration: ASAP - 30.6.2012 (with option for extension)
Hourly rate: CHF 85.- through our payroll system/or CHF 100.- contractor rate with own limited Swiss company
