SAN Storage Specialist
Project description
- Member of the regional Storage organisation that provides support of the SAN, NAS and Backup environment.
- Primary contact for the EMC CX700 Technical Refresh project for the Swiss region.
Task & Responsibilities
- Participate and lead SAN storage-related projects from start to completion.
- Maintain the availability of the infrastructure based on the Storage SAN Environment in Zurich and other regions
- Ensure that processing on all systems is in accordance with agreed SLA's
- Advise, support and coach colleagues, line managers, specialists and Project Managers on products, services, processes and results
- Support the standardisation of the storage environment.
- Ensure that appropriate tests are in line with the test concept and create transparent and complete documentation
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd Level Support of the storage environment
- Provide on call support outside of business hours.
- Assist with out-of-hours change activities, including during weekends.
- Coordinate change management with the help of planning, control and monitoring tools
- Provide recommendations for improving quality and efficiency, and implement these along the project plan into the environments
Deliverables
- In addition to the ongoing support tasks listed above:
- Act as the primary contact for the Swiss region for the EMC CX700 Technical Refresh project and ensure timely implementation of tasks to meet an aggressive deadline.
Required Experience/Skills
- Knowledge of Storage Area Network (SAN), Zoning and Fibre channel cabling (preferably CISCO technology)
- Experience with EMC's range of enterprise storage products, including Clariion, DMX and V-MAX.
- Proven customer service skills
- Formal education and training or equivalent experience in Information Technology
- Expert in consumption-driven requirements planning and team overlapped task co-ordination
- English language fluency - written and spoken
- Good communication skills
