Database and Web Technician / System Engineer

General role description
Act as liaison between two information systems and Business Intelligence & Public Affairs in support of specific business applications. Work with Information Systems and external providers to ensure that customers technical requirements are met, e.g. compatibility, speed, security, etc.
Accountabilities
• DATABASE TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Provide ongoing support for the selection and implementation of external or internal databases.
• HARDWARE TECHNICAL SUPPORT in coordination with IS department, e.g. server maintenance, reliability, utilization.
• DEVELOPMENT OF WEB applications for Business Intelligence solutions for business, e.g. Dashboards, portals, smartphone applications, etc.
• SHAREPOINT application focal point. Responsible for implementation and maintenance, troubleshooting technical problems, training users, increasing use and understanding of the tool.
• I.D.E.S. SYSTEM FOCAL POINT. Working with external supplier IDES, ensure that this important product database is operational and effective. Troubleshoot technical problems, coordinate and implement enhancements, improve usability of the tool, train users, etc.
• DOCUMENTUM: Serve as technical expert on Documentum, the company’s literature archive system. Troubleshoot technical problems, coordinate and implement enhancements, improve usability of the tool, train users, etc.
• INTRANET AND INTERNET MEASUREMENT AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT. Run regular measurement reports to analyze traffic and site optimization opportunities.
Experience/Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Information Technology or Information Systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Systems, or similar discipline.
- Very strong technical skills, ability to learn new applications and systems quickly
- Strong initiative, interpersonal and communications skills.
- Excellent English skills, written and verbal.
- Flexibility, ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
