Senior Java Developer/Solution Architect (Banking)

On behalf of our client, a leading bank in Zürich, we are looking for a Senior Java Developer/Solution Architect.
Overview of the project:
- The client is currently looking to change their current applications landscape in the lending space by enabling clients for more self-services and e2e digitalization and automation. Reduce complexity, provide more data and dashboards to our clients as well as internal stakeholders have to be build.
Main responsibilities:
- The main function is to analyze and estimate the business requirements, elaborate an appropriate application design, decide on the technology applied and clarify impact on other applications.
- Knows the different possibilities and communicates with all necessary stakeholders about interfaces, security.
- Ensures high quality of work by conducting code reviews, ensuring unit testability of the application and supporting the development team.
- This is a mixed role, which contains at least 50% solution engineering work as well. In this part of the role design decisions will be realized.
Skills:
- Strong Java programming skills (Java 7, JPA, CDI, Jersey) with over 7 years of professional experience
- Strong understanding of the JEE technologies (Weblogic, JEE 6, EJB, Webservices (REST)
- Strong understanding of the web technologies (JSF, JSON, HTML)
- Analytics capabilities with passion for data, and the know-how to wrangle large amounts of data.
- Familiar with Splunk, Hadoop, Tableau and Analytics technology
- Knowledge of tests, linting and version control
- strong understanding of relational database design & implementation
- good skills of Eclipse or IntelliJ, Subversion, maven
- good understanding of Patterns (Design)
- Strong adherence to standards in the area of Java, JEE, Guidelines, Architecture
- Strong commitment to test-driven development (JUnit, Continuous Integration)
- Willingness to be outside of your comfort zone, and adaptability
- Good hands-on experience with Service Oriented Architectures
- Banking or Financial services industry experience
- Experience with SQL (Oracle) and data base design
- strong understanding of OO Analysis, OO Design with UML
- strong soft skills to handle stakeholders with different background (Requirement engineers, Project leads, Programmers, Offshore resources, Testers etc.) and integrate in the existing Project team.
- Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time.
