Experience and Education Requirements
The candidate ideally must:
• Have a demonstrable track record of successfully managing projects of 10 MCHF or over.
• Have experience with the recovery of projects in distress.
• Have an ability to instil trust and effectively engage with project sponsor/owner and senior managers.
• Be a good communicator, able to present a project in the context of business benefits, without losing him/herself in (IT-oriented) detail.
• Have excellent core project management skills, with a particular focus on: issue & risk management, scope & change management, dependency management, stakeholder management and supplier management.
• Have experience in coaching project managers.
• Be fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Be result oriented and able to work autonomously.
• Be willing and able to travel occasionally between Wangen bei Dübendorf (Zurich) and Geneva.
It is considered a definite advantage if the candidate:
• Has experience with managing projects that integrate "modified off the shelf" software products into an existing system environment.
• Possesses a recognised project management certification.
• Is based in the Zürich/Wangen bei Dübendorf area.
• Is proficient in the German language
Job Context:
The requirement is in our corporate-level unit that holds a group of senior project managers managing projects of importance and complexity. Providing coaching and support to less experienced project managers elsewhere in the company, or to projects in distress, is part of this group’s mandate. We are currently looking at temporarily increasing the group’s capacity to fulfil this coaching and support mandate.
Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced, senior project manager to support and coach the project manager of a project in distress. In addition, this role is expected to guide the project manager in creating and implementing a viable recovery plan and to take the necessary actions to re-establish trust with senior management.
