Virtual Platform Systems Administrator - Zurich- Switzerland
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Systems Administrator in the Virtual Platform team to fill a contractor position that will be responsible for day-to-day support of a large scale global Virtual infrastructure based on VMWare vSphere operating system and Cloud Automation software called CSA and its sub-components for provisioning.
The responsibilities include,
- Upgrading and patching of the virtual platform environment, OS, drivers, firmware, etc.
- Install new ESX Servers and management Servers
- Incident and problem management
- Troubleshoot problems using all available tools like VROPS etc.
- Handling requests within SLA
- Supporting all parts of virtual infrastructure including, blades, Flex10s, 3PAR SAN, Brocade Switches, network Switches etc.
- Deployment of new features in virtual provisioning using Cloud Service Automation tool
- Interfacing with consumers of the service in all aspects
- Managing virtual estate such as decommissioning Servers and expanding the environment
Your team
The Virtual Platform team is responsible for introducing new technologies to the production environment working in conjunction with the Cloud Engineering team and maintaining the stability of the production environment. The Virtual Platform team works as a single unit with team members located in US, UK, Switzerland, Singapore, Krakow, and Pune.
Your expertise
- Minimum of 3 years of supporting Virtual Platform as systems administrator
- Quick learner of technology and able to adapt to fast changing environment
- Expert knowledge on all components of vSphere products
- Expert knowledge on HPE hardware and their management Servers
- Expert knowledge on VROPS tool
- Knowledge on HPE Cloud Service Automation tool
- Knowledge on HPE 3PAR SAN storage
- Knowledge on virtual machine migration tools
- Knowledge on Microsoft Azure
- Able to work with team members in both local and remote locations
- Able to collect and analyze virtual platform capacity and customer demands
- Able to work under pressure
