Overview of business area or project:
SUB Analytics IT team enables data scientists in various business functions by providing required tools, technology and data. The team builds a solution, which on one hand allows data scientists to analyse data and build advanced analytics models (Analytics Lab) and on the other hand to operationalize data pipelines to execute data sourcing, data integration, data enrichment with analytical results and integration with the downstream systems in an automatic manner (Analytics Factory).
Key Responsibilities:
The role of Data Visualization Engineer for this contract will primarily focus on building dashboards to enable self-service for business users and also on data sourcing and data integration tasks for the dashboards.
Here is an overview of the role's main responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the business teams to understand data and functional requirements.
- Design and build data analysis dashboards for business stakeholders.
- Design and build data pipelines to ingest, integrate, standardize, clean and publish data for the dashboards.
- Configure data visualization tools to enable self-service for data analysts and business users.
Overview of the department/team (team size, backgrounds, personalities):
The SUB Analytics IT team consists of eight people with another 3-5 IT colleagues from other teams involved into the day-to-day activities of this function.
The team works in an agile way with the colleagues closely collaborating with each other. There is a good mix of skills and personalities within the Analytics IT team as well as within the teams of data scientists. Nice, supportive and stimulating environment to work in.

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a Data Visualization specialist and a proven understanding of data visualization principles and best practices
- Good experience with Tableau - both desktop and server development and configuration
- Experience with Microsoft PowerBI and other data visualization tools is a plus
- Excellent knowledge of SQL and Hadoop based SQL engines, eg Impala, Hive
- Experience in data sourcing and data integrating on Hadoop technology stack using Scala, Spark, Python and other languages
- Splunk experience is a plus
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with Dataiku, Hue and/or other end user tools
