Job Description:
Overview of business area or project:
The individual will join the EUS Workspace team and play an integral role in assisting us deploying our new virtual apps service. The Workspace team supports CS's business activities by providing technology services across all end point device types.
The individual will be responsible for designing and delivering expertise across the virtual apps service and will assist with the transformation of this service.
This will require close collaboration with internal and external technology and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Successfully migrate applications from XenApp 6.5 to XenApp 7.l5, satisfy project goals
- Responsibility for the 2nd level operations of Citrix Virtual Apps (formerly XenApp) to support migration activities
- Internal user support for Citrix Virtual Apps related issues
- Software deployment to Citrix Servers (Applications)
- Testing new Citrix build releases
- Opportunity to be part of a very experienced team
Overview of the department/team (team size, backgrounds, personalities):
Current team consists operations and engineering team which are split across the multiple locations which include Poland and India.
Challenges Contractor will be facing in this role:
As mentioned in the overview this is a transformation role and as such will require close interaction with multiple technology and business teams so having experience in virtual apps is essential as well as have a user centric focus as the service is consumed directly by CS end users.
Essentials Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with Xen-app application migrations
- 2nd level support Citrix Virtual apps
- User support Citrix Virtual apps issues
- Deployment of Citrix Servers
- Testing Citrix build releases
- Excellent knowledge and minimum 3 years of experience with Citrix Virtual Apps (formerly XenApp), Virtual Desktop (XenDesktop)
- Understanding of network topologies, TCP/IP and general networking.
- Team player with good communication skills and experience dealing with end users in a support and migration context.
- Excellent knowledge of the following Microsoft products, PowerShell, MS Windows 10, MS Office, MS Windows Server 2012 or above.
- The successful candidate will diagnose and resolve Real Time incidents including performance issues of the XenApp published applications being migrated to the new generation platform.
- They will also execute planned support activities and maintenance including application/infrastructure changes.
- The candidate will be also collaborating with resources in other regions, collectively providing transparent day to day production support for the virtual desktop estate located all world.
