Scientific Project Coordinator

Background:

As a Scientific Project Coordinator for the PHC (Personalized Healthcare) Ophthalmology Advanced Analytics Showcase you will report to the Showcase Analytics Lead and work in close partnership with the whole team as we as all key stakeholders. Ideally you will be working in a hybrid role - part project/stakeholder management, coordination, and communication and part scientific/clinical data management including due diligence -- attuned to the emerging functional needs.
In all cases, we look to you to provide thoughtful input as well as drive and diligently support all project related activities, contribute and foster a collaborative team environment, apply creative problem solving to challenges encountered, and hold the team and yourself accountable for performance commitments and delivery of project/operational assignments. You will help define and deliver functional solutions to achieve value delivery and business objectives.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Guide and support project team and stakeholders in planning and implementation of business objectives/outcomes set by senior managers and executives.

  • Thoughtful planning: Implement strong project management to set teams up for success;
  • Design, prepare for and effectively facilitate team meetings and/or interactions (agenda setting, outcomes and action item management)
  • Decision-making: Support day-to-day decision-making by the teams through appropriate preparation, communication, information management and removing of obstacles
  • Relationship building: Build and maintain positive, trust-based working relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside of the organization
  • Communications: Design and implement communication plans targeting relevant individuals or groups inside and outside of the organization
  • Solution/Project Definition: Partner with the Showcase Analytics Lead and Key Stakeholders to align on scope and desired outcomes for performance objectives
  • Goal/Value Tracking: Lead thoughtful planning, tracking and communication of specific goals to ensure transparency and business impact
  • Agility: Continuously and flexibly integrate organizational priorities and challenges into planning and execution of functional solutions/service delivery

Must Haves:

  • 3+ years coordinating/managing complex projects in a fast-paced, dynamic, customer-oriented
  • 3+ years multi-disciplinary experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry Matrix environment
  • Life science or related degree (mandatory)
  • Very good organizational skills along with expertise in vendor/contract/license management and attuned stakeholder management
  • Excellent communication skills in English both verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite
  • Proficiency in web-based planning systems such as Smartsheet and Jira
  • Business excellence skills: Develop efficient processes/approaches for the team based on business knowledge and proactive collaboration with others to get things done
  • Collaboration skills: Effectively collaborate within and across multiple organizations and with stakeholders of various background and skill sets; Contributes actively to group learning from both success and failures
  • Communication skills: Able to simplify a complex set of components into a simple, effective message; Proactively determines communication needs and implements messaging
  • Problem solver: Ability to work in unstructured and ambiguous environments; Demonstrate ability to develop and present sound proposals and recommendations; Brings experience in
  • implementing and embedding solutions, not just information-gathering to management.
  • Leading skills: Takes full accountability for their work; Speaks up and takes on new work scope to support team and function effectiveness

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in one or several of the following areas is considered a plus: scientific/clinical, data management, statistical data analysis, scientific writing
  • International teamwork or global functional experience is preferred
  • Project Management certification, Lean Six Sigma certification or Decision Science certification are a plus
