Lab Manager Assistant 50% (f/m/d) - research / data management / G-Suite / English / German

Role:
For our client a Pharma company based in Basel we are looking for a Lab Manager Assistant 50% (m/f/d).

Background:

The manager of this position holds a special position where she oversees overall management. A lot of the role is to be involved with lab supply management & waste management. The contractor will be learning from and working closely with the manager.
We are looking for a candidate eager to learn, to create new processes and develop new
ways of managing labs supplies & waste. This is not a lab position, this position is a support
to the lab manager. A strong understanding of laboratory environment is however needed to
be able to work in a safe manner (Biosafety level 2) and provide tailored solutions to lab
employees.
The perfect candidate has a finished apprenticeship as Lab Technician and is experienced in
managing data bases of lab equipment, lab support and in lab waste management. In
addition the perfect candidate has to be highly motivated, proactive and organized as well as
physically fit. Roche experience would be a great plus.

Task & Responsibilities:
- Verifying receipt of supplies, keeping order tracking sheets up-to-date
- Organizing / creating shared consumables stocks; Maintaining optimal stock inventory
level, anticipating needed supplies
- Managing and updating inventories of lab equipment
- Coordinating laboratory equipment maintenance
- Infrastructure management: Serving as a collecting point for infrastructure related issues
- Ensuring that the laboratories are cleaned / sanitized and kept in an orderly manner
- Managing material / sample transfers with collaborating national and international research
sites and external institutes
- Working closely with team members to provide effective solutions to support research and
quality objectives and implement quality assurance systems
- Ensuring that lab personnel follow industry standards and safety regulations

Must Haves:

- Finished apprenticeship preferably as Lab Technician (Biology, Chemistry) or University
Degree in relevant areas
- 1-3 years' experience working in a research laboratory in close collaboration with research
associates and scientists
- First experience in a laboratory setting in close collaboration with research associates and scientist
- Very good written and spoken English skills is a must, German a big advantage
- First experience in database and machine-maintenance data management
- Experience in regulatory compliance and laboratory safety
- Good skills in G-Suite, experience with MS Office (Word, Excel) is a plus
- Very good spoken and written skills in English and German
- Physically fit (walking around 8km per day, carrying 25kg canisters)
- Excellent analytical and self-organizational skills, attention to detail and diligent working
behavior
- Flexible and adaptable personality, willingness to quickly address the challenges of
everyday lab life
- Politically correct attitude and able to deal with conflict and stay calm
- Team player with solution-oriented, proactive and agile working style
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High degree of self-motivation, flexibility and ability to work independently
