For a project at our client‘s site, an international bank based in Bern, we are looking for a motivated
Storage and Backup Administrator
In this role you will be part of the team that is responsible for leading the bank's backup infrastructure globally with the opportunity to work in a project to modernize the backup infrastructure and processes by deploying disk based backup infrastructure alongside NetBackup 8.2.
Your Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in off-line storage backup administration position with solid understanding of NetBackup 7.x and 8.x including OpsCenter essential, APTARE of advantage
- Good understanding of tape encryption essential, preferably SKLM
- Good working knowledge of tape libraries, preferably IBM TS3500 and TS4500
- Experience with HPE StoreOnce 6600 Data Domain and Cohesity is preferable
- Sound knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
- In depth knowledge of Veritas NetBackup tools to backup Servers, Oracle DBs and VMware VMs
- Strong know-how with Physical and Virtual Tape Systems with experience IBM and HP Storage Systems
- Hands on experience monitoring and performance tuning of various storage systems
- Competence with capacity planning and storage allocation forecasting
- Experience with SAN switches – Cisco as well as Shell scripting (bash/ksh, PERL, Python)
- Working knowledge of NAS and SAN is of advantage as well as Dell EMC Unity and Isilon
- Experience in agile working as well as of SOX controls, Audit and Regulatory Compliance is of advantage
- Sincere enthusiasm for automation and orchestration and experience with any associated tool is preferred
- Fluent in English
Your Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for Backup Infrastructure of CH EMEA region
- Fixing backup failures creating regulatory issues
- Ensuring infrastructure configurations in-line with security baselines
- Assisting Global Service Owner with statistical reporting and analysis of backup performance
- Identifying areas of improvement within infrastructure
- Configuring new hardware to resolve lifecycle issues
- Responsible for identifying automation opportunities along with design and implementation
