Linux System Administrator - 3 Level Support wanted for our Zurich based client in the financial sector.
Your experience/skills:
- 5+ years' of experience in supporting UNIX-based distributed, large-scale computing environment
- Outstanding troubleshooting skills, solid know-how in TCP/IP Networking as well as very good Scripting skills including Shell, Python and Perl
- Solid understanding of UNIX-based operating systems, at least Red Hat Linux and Solaris, and knowledge of virtualisation technologies (VMWare)
- Knowledge of software configuration management tools, preferably Puppet, version control systems, preferably Git, and unattended provisioning systems such as Kickstart, Jumpstart
- Skills with at least two of the following products are mandatory: Red Hat Satellite, Veritas Storage Foundation, Veritas Cluster Server, Red Hat Cluster Suite, Sun Cluster
- Languages: fluent English both written and spoken
Your tasks:
- Providing 3rd level Support for Red Hat Linux and Oracle Solaris in a distributed server environment, liaising with regional counterparts
- Participating in global infrastructure projects and driving for automating repetitive tasks and implementing automation on a global scale
- Collaborating with internal partners for designing, planning and coordination of implementation to ensure work is completed in a timely manner
- Writing technical documentation for related infrastructure, which includes, but is not limited to, the following technologies: Red Hat Linux, Oracle Solaris, Clustering (VCS, RHCS, SC), Unix storage stack (file systems and volume managers - LVM, VxFS, ZFS, ASM, NFS) and storage technologies (SAN, NAS)
- Participating in on call rota as well as in weekend and evening work
