Senior Cobol Team Lead - Process improvement (5011)

The role is to lead and grow a team of cobol developers to continuously deliver high-quality solutions into production.

Your Qualifications:

- Strong and recent COBOL team leadership experience working within Banking and/or Financial Services environment
- Strong process improvement focus
- Extensive experience in designing, coding, testing and installing application programs across multiple platforms
- Well versed in system simulation testing with work experience within an agile environment
- Understanding in analysis and design of applications programs and databases
- Good mentoring and coaching skills and knowledge in recruitment management
- Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with users and third-party vendors
- Fluent in English

Your Responsibilities:

- Develop software components as defined by the systems development life cycle (SDLC)
- Test unit and integration of components for integration into larger subsystems
- Support the Software Component Manager in resolving high-priority defects and deploying fixes to production systems
- Make sure that produced code is secure, stable and operational before handover to the Software Component Manager
- Manage versions of software artifacts
- Mentoring and coaching team members to assist growth within the team and brining up the skills of junior developers
- Actively improving and maintaining Subject Matter Expertise within the team
- Preparing and maintaining systems and program documentation
- Assisting in the analysis and design of applications programs and databases
- Modifying and troubleshooting application programs
