Senior Unix/Linux System Administrator with profound analytical and interpersonal skills wanted for our Zurich based client in the banking sector.
Your experience/skills:
- A minimum of 7 years experience in Unix/Linux systems administration (Red Hat and Sun Solaris) in large environments, including Veritas and RedHat Cluster Systems as well as Scripting skills (Shell/Perl)
- Successfully completed Information Technology apprenticeship or adequate education
- ITIL V3, knowledge of/experience in Naming Services, Systems Management Tools and Virtualization
- Practical experience in Incident-, Problem and Change Management, including root cause analysis
- Excellent communication - the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and senior management
- Languages: fluent English both written and spoken, German would be considered an advantage
Your tasks:
- Planning and execution of maintenance of UNIX/Linux systems, including deployment of new operating system releases and Layer 2 (Middleware) components
- Supporting the integration of new systems and products, including support for projects through all environments from test to production
- Installing, configuring and root cause analysing with storage management tools
- Supporting Life Cycle projects, executing disaster recovery tests in cooperation with application support teams
- Creating, revising and updating technical documentation
- Providing on-call support (7x24h) for Unix Operations team, supporting project managers for implementation of new application solutions, including technical support
- Quality management, operation level management
