Virtualisation System Administrator
Responsibilities:
1. Perform daily system administration tasks, including upgrades, Patch & Security patch management and maintain regulatory controls.
2. Ensure optimal performance of all systems running within the virtual environment through proactive tuning and preventive maintenance.
a) Perform daily systems checks and correct any issues.
b) Monitor systems performance and recommend adjustments to system parameters to ensure optimum performance and response time.
3. Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports
4. Maintain security and data integrity
5. Implement and support audit and compliance regulations as per requirements
6. Manage escalation issues to the third level support teams and vendors
7. Support of a multi UCS domain and VMware environment
8. Work closely with application teams on troubleshooting issues as well as planning requirements for new virtual Servers
9. Maintain and restore VM "backups" and Snapshots
10. Update system and process documentation and user guides as needed diagrams and SOPs as needed
1. Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications or Computer Science
2. At least 5 years experience of IT industry including at least 3 years experience of system development or operation service delivery.
3. Familiar with virtualization technology VMware, Xen, Hyper-V.
4. Be proficient in at least 1 product and solution(s) in ESXi/vCenter, Xen/XenServer/XenDesktop etc.
5. Ability to deploy Citrix
6. Ability to deploy VMware, vCenter and ESXi
7. Ability to perform proper configuration of clusters, virtual switching and virtual machines
8. Excellent communication skill and team player.
9. Fluent English communication skills
