Storage administrator - Job in Zürich
On behalf of our client, a large global Information Technology organization, we are looking for a Storage Administrator to join their team in Zürich on a 12 months contract basis.
Responsibilities
- Management environment configuration
- The Client Server team will provide a set of Virtual Machines (VM's) at specified locations and you will setup the full HDS Management environment on those VM's.
- Support of the early deployment block environment
- Provide support to the Client Storage teams for any incidents or queries relating to the early deployment hardware and associated software. The equipment being supported should be clearly defined and you will be engaged as support for any other storage equipment
- Management and support of SAN Switches
- Configure and provide support to the Client Storage teams for the new Brocade SAN switch environment and its toolsets. Support for any other storage fabric is out of scope for this role.
- Liaise with any 3rd level support escalations into Hitachi or Brocade
- You should own and manage the co-ordination of efforts for any significant incident (eg Sev1) that requires further support or assistance from HDS or Brocade.
- Provision capacity requests
- Undertake the provisioning for the capacity requests on the early deployment storage equipment (only).
- Provide assistance to the MCS technical Team
- You will provide assistance to the MCS team for other key MCS programme tasks such as the collection of asset information. All such additional task requests will be passed through the SDM.
- Collecting Billing data
Required experience
- HDS storage expert
- Very good knowledge of VSP and ideally GXXX technologies
- Familiar with the configuration of Brocade SAN Switches and the use of the Brocade Web tools
- Highly articulate and a good communicator and relationship former
- Approachable and problem solver (able to find solutions if they do not initially know the answer)
- Fluency in English is a must, German is considered as a strong plus
