Software Engineer - Python/SQL/C# - (m/f/d) 80-100% - Hybrid
Project:
For our clients in the energy sector we are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to support one or more projects within their Risk Analytics and Engineering department.
The platform includes as well the data engineering and management with respect to these quantitative risk models.
You will be contributing towards a long-term project, therefore the ideal candidate will be prepared to commit to the project potentially until the end of 2025.
Tasks:
- Due to upcoming changes in the ecosystem of the existing Risk platform, changes and optimisation are required to operate and further develop the Risk platform.
- Build, develop, maintain and operate a Risk owned platform to orchestrate complex quantitative risk models written in R, Python and SQL.
- Build a new framework in Python. This framework will be used to import, transform and historize data in a MS SQL database. The load process will use two APIs (Data and Metadata) to load data from a new and proprietary Market Data System (MDS) in the Azure cloud.
- Extend a comprehensive and proprietary workflow management tool written in .NET and C#.
- Integrate the new Python Framework into the workflow management tool.
- Replace Legacy SQL code with a newly developed framework in SQL using stored procedures, views, tables and functions. This framework will be used to transform and historize data in a MS SQL Server database (about 7 TB)
Requirements:
- Extensive experience (4+ years) in SQL, C# and Python is required. Willingness to extend knowledge and skills across these three languages is expected.
- Experience in Git is required and experience Azure DevOps is of advantage. Willingness to extend knowledge and skills across both tools is expected.
- Software Engineering and Software Architecture skills are of advantage.
- Fluency in English is required, fluency in German is of advantage.
- Analytical and structured approach is essential.
- Highly motivated, self-driven and self-organised and a team player is essential
- This is a long-term engagement and we are looking for a reliable external resource with staying power.
