Data Analytics Engineer - Big Data - This ia s long term contract opportunity to join a globally operating Basel based company in the financial sector.Your tasks:
- Creating, installing, and testing highly scalable and fault-tolerant data management and processing systems
- Developing optimal data models for data storage and end-to-end data pipelines
- Contributing to the overall data architecture and design of the Big Data and Advanced Analytics solutions
- Collaborating with stakeholders to support their data needs and capture business requirements
- Cooperating with the Big Data engineering team for greater standardization across various data pipelines
Your experience/knowledge:
- 5+ year of work experience in the Big data technology area
- Expertise in RDBMS like SQL server, Postgres, etc., designing physical models, authoring SQL queries and procedural extensions
- Proficiency in data modelling and business intelligence systems, for example dimensional modelling, data vault, data mining, predictive analytics
- A thorough understanding of flow-based programming and data pipeline/ETL tools such as Apache NiFi
- Hands-on development using open-source big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, or Impala
Your soft skills:
- Proactive attitude combined with excellent analytical skills
- Ability to communicate in a business language with the stakeholders
