For our banking client based in Zurich we are currently looking for a
Senior Java Software Developer Derivative Toolbox
Location: Zurich
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 12 months + extensions
Languages: English and German
The developers work with traders, business analysts, and other developers to engineer low latency, high throughput trading systems.
They create and improve the libraries and frameworks upon which our trading applications are based, and develop new tools and services.
They interact directly with traders and strategists to capture business requirements and design innovative solutions.
Must Have:
- At least Bachelor degree in computer science or Software engineering or a related field
- Test Driven Development. JUnit and mocking libraries (eg, Mockito) are a very well appreciated.
- Principles of Object Oriented programming,interfaces, abstractions, dependencies, etc.
- Core Java & related utilities/libraries, particularly collections, Multithreading (Java.util.concurrent), JSON, JDBC, Maven.
- Spring Framework, JDBC templates and JPA.
- Messaging and JMS.
- Experience in Hazelcast and Elasticsearch is a plus.
- Previous ActiveMQ hands-on experience is a plus.
- Relational database modelling.
Soft skills:
- Positive and a can do attitude
- Self-motivator which is able to work with minimal direction
- Good code review skills, and pride in code quality
- Financial Services knowledge is ideal but not required
