Harvey Nash is looking for a Divisional Category Manager for a 6 month project in Switzerland.
The role is a is a category-specific resource responsible for the procurement activities associated with Third Party Operations. The DCM plans and leads category initiatives within their host Division and is also be involved in cross-divisional category projects in agreement with the Global Category Lead. The DCM contributes to the global cross divisional Category Strategy and leads proactive sub-category procurement projects as well as managing sub-category supplier performance and compliance as defined in the supplier segmentation. The activities of the DCM may be both divisionally focused as well as cross-divisionally and/or country focused.
You are responsible for
- providing divisional sub categories or country input to inform the top-down target setting process
- the delivery of divisional savings targets for the relevant sub categories following engagement in the target setting process, as well as cross-divisional projects identified
- delivering the Procurement Balanced Scorecard metrics at the divisional level for the sub categories
- reporting against the Procurement Balanced Scorecard at the divisional level for the sub categories
- the collection of supplier, market, category and internal business data and information for the categories
- providing divisional input and validation to the global cross divisional Category Strategies including facilitating involvement of relevant stakeholders
- the communication and distribution of divisional elements of the Category Strategies to the relevant stakeholders in Division
- the development and execution of divisional and cross-divisional projects based on the Category Strategies and Annual Category Plans
- leading proactive cross-divisional sourcing for the categories as agreed by the NVD lead for Category Management Techops and the Head of Global Contract Manufacturing
- aggregating requirements from key end user stakeholders to inform the divisional and cross-divisional projects
- business stakeholder engagement and communication of the divisional project plan
- ensuring the projects agreed to within the Category Strategies and Annual Category Plans are staffed and executed on a timely basis and in line with the targeted goals
- leading proactive sourcing for the categories within the Division
- leading proactive cross-divisional sourcing for the categories as agreed by the NVD lead for category management tech ops and the Head of Global Contract Manufacturing
- providing input into the overall category segmentation and identification of key supplier relationships
- the implementation of consistent Key Performance indicators with suppliers as agreed in the supplier segmentation
- the management of Divisional strategic supplier relationships for the category as agreed in the segmentation
- collecting supplier information and feedback from Divisions, countries, sites, and category teams
- ensuring the Supplier Performance and Innovation Framework is executed for the category at a divisional level
- proactively managing innovation with strategic suppliers for the category within Division based on the Supplier Performance and Innovation Framework
- the creation, application, completion and review of major contracts for the Division
- providing input into the development of the Category Playbook to summarize the strategy, communicate key contacts and suppliers and guide the best practice approach to operational buying
- ensuring that all divisional associates involved in operational buying activities have access to the Category Playbook
- ensuring negotiated contracts are clearly communicated for the category to ensure they are consistently applied
- monitoring compliance and adherence to clients procurement policies and procedures
- ensuring internal issues are addressed and resolved on a timely manner
- ensuring any supplier performance risks and issues are resolved on a timely basis to end user satisfaction
Requirements
- 5-10 years of Procurement experience. Extensive experience in Category and demand management, as well as negotiating.
- Bachelor's degree required at a minimum, Master's degree preferred; in fields such as business administration, finance, law or a scientific or technical field. Strong preference for CIPS or similar professional qualification.
- Excellent English, other language desirable.
