Data Modeler with profound Microsoft BI knowledge wanted for our Zurich based client in the financial sector.
Your experience/skills:
- Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- 7+ years' working experience as dimensional data modeler using Kimball or Inmon methodology and modelling tools such as Power Designer, ideally in the financial industry
- Expertise in DML and DDL with SQL Server T-SQL and in reverse engineering of physical data models from SQL scripts and databases
- Knowhow of SQL Server Integration Services using SSDT 2013 or higher
- Knowledge of Oracle Development Kit and Toad for Oracle to query Data Access Layer
- Languages: fluent English both written and spoken, German is a plus
Your tasks:
- Understanding and translating business needs into our data model as well as optimizing and updating our physical data model
- Taking Ownership of database deliverables, comprising of logical and physical data models, a data classification Matrix and a data dictionary
- Collaborating with the Data Warehouse Data Access Layer team and the Reporting IT lead to monitor, prioritise and implement changes
- Developing best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices, ensuring consistency of our data models
- Reporting directly to the Reporting IT lead and participate in an enthusiastic multifunctional team consisting of Developers, DevOps and Business Analysts in an Agile environment
