A Swiss insurance company is looking for a Senior System Engineer z/OS to strengthen their dynamic team of Mainframe experts, who help engineer, further develop and make best use of the capabilities, capacities and the potential of their Mainframe environment to the benefits of their clients and all platform users.Tasks:
• Work in a technically challenging job as a System Engineer with a broad responsibility for driving future design and enhancing current system,
and with a specialization in Mainframe Security and Network management. USS, zOS Maintenance and RSU handling are completing your skills
set.
• Engineering, i.e. plan, install, configure, customise and maintain IBM and ISV platform products on z/OS for a multi-LPAR Geographically
Dispersed Parallel Sysplex (GDPS), getting new and extended implementations and versions ready to be handed to operations and production
services teams to be rolled out into production environments, as well as implementing, managing, maintaining and upgrading various IBM
program products and ISV software.
• Providing consultancy and support to operations teams with on-call duty, tackling and solving issues in production environment in support of
operations as well as designing and implementing high-impact configuration changes will also be part of your responsibility.
Requirements:
• Core platform knowledge (z/OS, RACF, TSO, JCL etc.)
• Extended knowledge (architecting & engineering of solutions) in the Mainframe Security and Network area.
• Deep zSecure/RACF/CARLA knowledge.
• Skills in Core z/OS (JES2, XCF, RMF, SMF, USS, SMPE).
• Skills in z/OS Maintenance (RSU handling).
• Skills in System Automation, NetView and GDPS knowhow.
• Skills in Network in IP (Configuring and Tuning) and VTAM.
• Knowledge of REXX, Cobol and Assembler, z/OSMF Usage and handling, z/OS Webserver (Apache), LDAP/Kerberos.
Soft Skills:
• Fluent in English. German is a considered plus.
• Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks and demands, ability to work independently.
