We are looking for a Desktop Infrastructure Technician
Industry: Leading International Organisation
Contract of 6 months with the possibility of an extension
Location: Geneva
Start Date: 1 January 2017

As part of Systems Support, this organisation requires Infrastructure consultancy services to provide on-going support and implement service enhancements.
The resource will provide support to workspace devices (incl. desktops) and the supporting infrastructure.
Activities & deliverables
Under the supervision of the Workspace and Identity Services Unit's Head, the resource will
- Collaborate with other desktop administrators to deliver the managed desktop service
- Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end-users
- Liaise with the infrastructure teams when required
- Assist in the support of other workspace devices and appliances (Printers, Tablets, Audio/video conferencing equipment, etc.)
- Perform Workstation and VDI deployment
- Assist in software packaging and testing for the company and customers
- Assist with software license management
- Provide support for Workstation deployment and software deployment infrastructure as needed
- Participate in desktop related projects and other activities as required
- Document processes and procedures (SOPs)
- Maintain an inventory of some of the above workspace devices
Required profile
Formal Education:
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Experience and Skills:
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience supporting computer systems and/or applications
- Sound knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of computers, peripheral devices, communications systems and hardware capabilities
- Experience with Microsoft SCCM and Microsoft Intune is desirable
- Thorough understanding of DNS, Internet, TCP/IP, routing concepts, proactive capacity planning and performance monitoring
- Excellent technical knowledge of PC and desktop hardware
- Excellent technical knowledge of PC internal components
- Hands-on hardware, Windows and MS Office troubleshooting experience
- Experience with IT Service Management processes and ITIL Foundation
