Summary Job Description
As a member of the Server Automation team, you will play a key role in the agile delivery of automation solutions for infrastructure and software delivery. You will contribute to a fast moving scrum team, working closely together with your team mates in a self-deterministic environment to turn requirements into end product with a high level of quality and integrity.
Key Accountabilities
- Engineer cloud(laaS, PaaS) solutions
- Be involved in solution architecture and design
- Be member of an agile scrum team
- Provide 3rd level support for production issues
- Play a key role in the decommissioning of Legacy systems and adoption of new systems
Job Requirements
- As part of the Blagelogic to Saltstack migration we are currently looking for a team member who has strong hands on experience with Saltstack, Ancible, Chef or Puppet.
- The role requires strong coding knowledge in python, unix Shell.
- Knowledgeable on webservices (SOAP and REST).
- Excellent influencing and facilitation skills, in particular problem solving/troubleshooting activities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a resilient and flexible manner
- Is capable of becoming recognised as an expert within Cognizant and can develop this profile within the client organisation
Knowledge
Essential:
- Experience with operating system engineering/administration on both platform Linux(RHEL 5,6,7) and Windows server (2008, 2012) environments, proficiency in Linux is desirable
- Proven track record of designing scalable multi-location infrastructure platforms
- Experience with IT systems management platforms such as Saltstack, Ancible, Chef or Puppet
- Experience with both consumption and creating of web services (SOAP, REST)
- Practical experience with networking concepts(switching, routing, Firewalls etc.)
- Strong programming/Scripting skills in
- Python
- Unix Shell
- Good communication skills & fluency in English.
Desirable:
- System integration experience in virtualized ecosystems (VMWare)
- Experienced with container technologies (Docker, LXC, Rocket)
- Any infrastructure technology related certification will be considered as a plus (MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, RHCE, VCP)
Experience
- Minimum of 4-10 years of relevant development experience mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of working experience on Saltstack mandatory.
- Full software development life cycle experience.
Qualifications
- Relevant degrees: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
- Certification will be considered as a plus (MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, RHCE, VCP).
