Project/Role Summary:
This project is delivering next generation of BYOD Employee & Partner remote access systems. Candidate to provide deep technical knowledge, thought leadership & architectural vision with an eye on the broader EUC landscape & industry trends. Working in support of the Solution Architecture SME, candidate will be responsible for delivering prototyping, solutioning, road-mapping and technical oversight. This role is operating at a senior level, and the individual is expected to work with a level of independence & drive topics, syndication and communicate vision on complex topics to all levels.
Tasks:
- Deliver Solution designs & on-going architectural governance on the following platform components.
- This will involve solutioning, prototyping, blueprints, syndication with multiple stakeholders and peer technical groups through detailed documentation & presentations.
- Employee remote access with Xendesktop & Netscaler delivering 'contextually aware' remote ICA sessions. eg if user is off campus then block application/URL xyz on target desktop. Potentially leveraging Appsense/Windows security controls.
- Endpoint security solution: Provide solution to protect ICA endpoint.
- Partner remote access: Improve onboarding process & xenapp application hosting.
- Tuning remoting protocol: Tuning audio/telephony/video on the Citrix HDX protocol.
- Prototyping: Mobile apps for personal laptop, Good Dynamics Apps on Windows/MAC desktop.
Qualifications:
General:
- Thought leadership.- Good English communication skills, written and verbal.
- Very Strong Windows Architecture skills with engineering background with engineering background.
- Field Experience in Remote Access.
- Knowledge about industry standards and trends in BYOD, Server based compute, VDI.
- Strong presentation skills in verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work independently.
Experiences:
- Solution Architect with hands-on engineering skills who can write a proof of concept for setting up a VDI remote solution with Solid Windows Architecture skills for setting up Remote Access (especially for VDI Desktop access)
- Previous Vendor selection experience (alternative to CITRIX products) is a must.
- Large enterprise solution architect experience is needed (at least 2 projects)
- Must have presented previous remote access solutions as a solution architect to the board.
- Bring your own devices (working from home) and security (what network encryption security knowhow is needed for Windows and MAC PCs for the end user - and it needs to be easily installed by the end users) project solution experience.
- Citrix product knowledge is ideal but not a must, as a person that can offer alternative solutions to Citrix shall be gladly considered.
Proven experience with following products & topics are essential:
- Citrix NetScaler/StoreFront/XenDesktop ICA
- (BYOD) Security
- Architected complex infrastructure solutions.
- CCIA certification preferred.
