For our client, a pharmaceutical company in Switzerland, we are looking for a motivated and ambitious:
Project Manager/Web Application Readiness Sub-Workstream Lead
Overview:
Our client has launched the project for the global Windows 10 migration with the following topics in scope:
* Windows 7 - Windows 10 Upgrade
* Internet Explorer 10 - Internet Explorer 11 Upgrade
* Microsoft Office 2010 - Microsoft Office 2016 Upgrade
This translates to an impact on the company globally (all sites and business functions). Furthermore the project is expected to have many dependencies to other business and IT endeavors that need to be identified and managed accordingly.
This role is to lead the sub-stream for the web applications of the Application Readiness workstream.
Candidate is expected to lead the 12 web application coordinators spread across 4 locations and two timezones (Basel & San Francisco). Candidate will work closely together with a colleague to manage all aspects of the web application readiness testing and will be reporting to the Application Readiness Workstream Lead.
Testing has kicked off mid-May; candidate is expected to guide and focus the web application coordinator on clearing the web applications for Internet Explorer 11.
Candidate is expected to understand the business needs and handle gaps between business expectations and what the project delivers as well as escalations arising in the web application readiness area.
Main tasks:
- Lead Web Application Readiness Sub-Stream together with internal colleague
- Ensure engagement of SPOCs (Single Point of Contact) for the business functions who in turn need to engage the Business Application Owners for testing
- Understand business functions needs and apply the testing processes for collaboration with SPOCs and application owners
- Point of escalation for all web application-related topics project-internally as well as towards business stakeholders
- RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) management, especially Identify, track and handle dependencies in the application readiness area (esp. when this has an impact on the timeline and/or budget)
- Manage the triple constraints [Cost, Schedule, Scope/Quality] of the workstream delivery, escalating to project manager, business stakeholders, Functional Managers, and/or Sr. Mgmt, as appropriate to keep sub-workstream on track, in scope, and on budget, specifically including full financial forecasting for full workstream and annual budget constraints.
- Identify deviations from the cost, schedule and scope baseline and forecasts early and raise to project management
Qualifications:
- Experience in migration/deployment projects (eg rollout projects, handling of large data sets), ideally in the application readiness area (1+ years)
- Experience in IT project management (PM certification a plus), 3+ years
- Strong focus on project delivery
- Cross-functional communication and negotiation skills; proven track record of handling escalations on all levels IT internally as well as between business and IT
- ITIL Foundation certification or relevant experience in Service Management
- Process definition and delivery
- Experience in detailed planning and tracking
- Leadership of external and internal staff
- Experience in virtual, international team settings
- Business-fluid in English, both verbally and in writing
Nice to have:
- Background in application testing esp. for migration readiness
- Former Pharma experience (ideally having worked together with one or more business functions and IT in the past)
- CSV background and experience in working with IT Quality
- German, Spanish, other languages
