Beschreibung

For our client in Zurich, we are looking for a Data Specialist with Accounting experience for a 6 month's assignment.

We are offering a 6 month position within an international project team consisting of Group Accounting, Controlling & Policy and Group Risk Control tasked with implementing the accounting standard IFRS 9.

Group Accounting, Controlling & Policy is a Group wide function which is responsible for the preparation and analysis of underlying information in the Financial Statements. It is also responsible for the preparation of Group and Parent Bank regulatory filings, including those related to capital adequacy and liquidity and funding. Group Risk Control is a Group wide function which is responsible for the oversight of Primary and Consequential Risk. Primary Risk includes Credit Risk and Market Risk.

The IFRS 9 adoption project is a key Strategic Regulatory Initiative (SRI) for UBS supported by the Group Executive Board and co-sponsored by the Chief Financial and the Chief Risk Officer. It impacts many divisions including Retail & Corporate, Wealth Management, Wealth Management Americas and the Investment Bank, with significant impacts on Risk, Finance, IT and Corporate Center.

IFRS 9 includes new guidance on how to classify and measure financial instruments including the calculation of their impairment. In particular, it brings in new rules that will materially change how banks account for credit risk arising from accrual accounted loans, guarantees and loan commitments, moving from the current incurred loss model to an expected loss model.

The passion for our work drives us to produce superior results compared to industry peers. We aim to expand our team with an equally passionate new colleague. We offer the opportunity to become an integral part of an exceptionally well-functioning team and to acquire valuable skills in the strategic field of regulatory expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Finalize the documentation of input and output data attributes relevant for IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculation, disclosures and reporting (data dictionary)
  • Perform and document data lineage between the input and output data attributes of the ECL calculation for both data attributes used for risk and accounting owned inputs, including lineage between the accounting and risk owned attributes
  • Reviewing risk and accounting IT specifications to understand data lineage while consulting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Data Specialist with strong analytical skills and experience in accounting/risk data architecture
  • Data architecture specialist
  • Knowledge of the systems and processes of the bank is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of accounting and risk concepts
  • Ambition to rather quickly gain a thorough understanding of IFRS 9 ECL.
  • At least Bachelor degree (or similar) in Finance, Economics, Engineering or Accounting
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in data management/data architecture/data lineage
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, especially Excel and MS Access
  • Database modelling experience is a plus (knowledge of data types, relationship types, referential integrity)
  • Strong presentation and reporting skills are necessary
  • Ability to broker agreement amongst diverse stakeholders
  • Adherence to milestones in a time-sensitive, dynamic environment
  • Self-driven personality who assumes full ownership of his or her work
  • English fluent (German is a plus)
