WebSphere Application Server Engineer - Freelance - Zurich
Our client a well known International Bank based in Zurich is looking for a skilled WAS Engineer to assist with an upgrade and migration project.
This is a migration and upgrade project from Sparc Solaris to x86 hardware architecture. This includes migration from WebSphere 6 to WebSphere 7 for a number of applications.
Task & Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for the migration from WebSphere 6 to WebSphere 7 in the development environment as well as the packaging and installation in all test environments and production.
- Managing deployments and ensuring a high availability environment
- Writing and improving scripts (Shell)
Required Experience/Skills:
- Deep technical skills of WebSphere 6 & 7 administration mandatory.
- Good knowledge of JAVA/J2EE etc
- ANT, MAVEN and basic Shell Scripting skills (unix korn shells) mandatory.
- Basic skills of C++ (compilation of existing libraries on the new hardware platform)
