The Technical Project Manager (TPM) leads the technical project team to achieve project goals and milestones, overseeing the development and execution of the Basis of Design (BOD) until the end of Operational Qualification (OQ). Additionally, the role serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for the design phase of the project, collaborating with MSAT and Operations. Overall, the TPM supports the development of a project plan, schedules technical activities, and collaborates with the project controls team to manage the project budget and costs by assessing and mitigating project risks.

Responsibilities:

* Ensure completion of all technical deliverables for Concept and BOD phases, oversee equipment installation and qualification, and ensure documentation adherence to regulatory and industry standards during the project closeout process, including a review of lessons learned.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to define and own the project scope.
* Assist in selecting Design Engineering strategies and partners, including developing a design deliverables list.
* Manage the Design engineering company from Concept to BOD approval.
* Effectively communicate and ensure understanding of technical standards by developing a project technical standard.
* Support the development of the project plan, including scheduling technical activities such as equipment design, installation, commissioning, and qualification, considering project timelines, budgets, and resource availability.
* Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks throughout the project life cycle, developing contingency plans as needed.
* Manage the project budget, control costs, monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and report financial performance to stakeholders.
* Solve complex technical problems as they arise during the project, leveraging deep technical understanding, problem-solving skills, and collaborative teamwork.

Candidate profile:
  • Education: Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering (process, pharmaceutical, biochemical or equivalent)
  • Experience
    • 10+ years in project engineering and project management for chemical, biochemical, pharmaceutical industries with international experience.
    • Broad technical knowledge of the Various Engineering Disciplines in the Pharmaceutical environment, both on clean and black utilities, process, automation, Instrumentation and Civil Engineering
    • Task orientated person who is very comfortable working towards set objectives and has a track record of achieving results in this regard.
    • Proven experience in cost control and scheduling related to investment projects .
    • Experience in engineering aspects of facility design to build a compliant but cost effective plant.
    • Knowledge of modern CQV approaches to minimize the time from construction completion to routine production while maintaining compliance.
  • Knowledge
    • Excellent knowledge of computer systems (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
    • Good understanding of how the CDMO industry/business works.
    • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English and German).
  • Effective influencing skills. Ability to communicate to varying levels and functions of the organization.
  • Strong collaborative mindset.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and coach direct reports and teams with or without direct line responsibility.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to solve problems, understanding details and strategic picture, providing practical solutions.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong experience in Engineering and cGMP Manufacturing of chemical and biological APIs.
