for my client based in Zurich, Switzerland we are looking for a
System Engineer
Location: Zürich Start: 01.07.12 Duration: 6 months
Language: English/German would be beneficial
What will be required:
Migration of the Swiss Database and staging part of an application from a Legacy environment to the Banks DWH platform.
- Migration of Informatic a7.14 Workflows to a standardized DWH platform operating on Informatica 8.6
- Migration of batch scheduling jobs running on an internally developed scheduling program to Control
M
- Migration Database objects on Oracle 10G to a standardized DWH platform operating on Oracle 11G
- Migration of Feed transfers (Connect Direct/ftp) to the new platform (ftps)
- Ensuring data transfer of the operational and reporting dta from the Legacy database to the new Environment
- Development of necessary changes on the application database/staging environment as a result of the migration
- Deployment of the application parts using common change management (SWAN XP) and version control tools (Subversion)
- Close collaboration with the application and platform responsible based in Switzerland and Singapore.
Skills required:
- Several years of development experience (database, Staging)
- Strong knowledge in database architecture and security
- Strong knowledge of Oracle (10g, 11g), SQL and PL/SQL
- Strong knowledge of ETL process (Informatica7, 8), workload automation (Control-M) and feed transfer (ftp-s)
- Strong team player and ability to work in international and heterogeneous teams
- Ability to quickly adapt to defined processes and to work in a highly standardized environment
- Basic XML skills
- Experience with Change Management, Version Control and Quality Control Tools
Nice to have:
- Experience with the internal tools used on this particular banks DWH platform such as Generic Staging and SDSS
- Experience in Test Management
