On behalf of our client, one of the market leaders in the field of pharmaceuticals, we are looking for a Software Engineer.
This is a contracting position from October 1st 2018 until December 31st, 2019 (over 1 year). This position implies establishing processes and implementations to handle the big data collected from smartphones and other wearables in clinical trials to discover digital biomarkers.
Tasks:
- Implement signal processing and data analysis pipelines for processing large amounts of sensor data collected in clinical trials according to best coding practice
- Modularize existing signal processing and data analysis pipelines to enable reuse of pipelines across clinical trials by a large team of scientists
- Documentation of code used in pipelines
Requirements
- 5+ years professional software development experience
- Deep knowledge of Python and experience with the common Python data analysis stack (eg NumPy/SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, etc)
- One or more of the following programming languages: Java, C/C++, R and Matlab
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores
- Ability to write standards-compliant database related code for MongoDB and MySQL
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux internals and workload management systems (SLURM, SGE or UGE)
- Strong working knowledge of best coding practices (versioning, TDD, debugging)
- Familiar with the Atlassian suite (Confluence, Jira, BitBucket, Bamboo)

- End Date: 31.12.2019 (duration over one year)
- Work Location: Basel, Switzerland
- Work Load: 100%
- Travelling: Limited travel, if the project requires, 0 to 25% possible (Europe & USA for meetings, conferences and workshops)
