This Project Accounting Specialist will join the local Project Accounting team.
In this role you will be responsible for project accounting activities in order to:
1) Develop, monitor and control an accurate project accounting records. Implement robust monitoring & accounting processes to ensure project accounting support meets the project requirements.
2) Consolidate and report on all accounting elements within projects (e.g. Purchase Requisitions, Invoicing and reconciliation).
Key responsibilities:
- Ensures correct Cost Breakdown Structure coding is utilized for requisitions, purchase orders, invoices and for internal man-hours booking.
- Invoice processing to include detailed reviews, investigating billing issues and identifying overages
- ensuring contract terms are adhered too.
- Ensures timely release of invoices for submission for payment.
- Works in coordination w/ Accounts Payable Shared Services Center.
- Acts as Unifier System Administrator and provides adequate training and support for users.
- Assists in month end activities (accruals, vendor reconciliations)
- Oversees the Monthly cost reconciliation between Unifier and SAP
- Works in coordination with Procurement and our EPCM partners or other key vendors, as required.
- Responds to ad hoc requests for data and data analysis.
- Assists in project close out activities including capitalization of assets.
- Assists Cost Controllers as and when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key requirements:
- Qualification: Commercial Apprenticeship Profile E/M or Swiss Matura Diploma
- 3-5 years of experience in Accounting and P2P. Preferable to also have experience being part of a team
- cost controlling on large scale projects and project experience in general.
- Language: Fluent in English and German is essential. Other language skills advantageous
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
- Communicative person able to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Able to deal with Ambiguity - can conform to shifting priorities, and demands
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with project management software in the area of cost controlling (Unifier or similar), SAP
- and Excel.
