Molecular Biologist - Lab Technician vacancy for a globally operating Basel based company in the pharmaceutical sector.Your tasks:
- Planning and executing genetic manipulation and directed evolution research
- Analyzing sequences and contributions of mutations to phenotype
- Performing experiments using PCR, cloning, transformation, and recombinant gene expression in automated high throughput format
- Investigating the feasibility of applying a variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential innovations, processes or products
- Utilizing substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories in area of expertise
- Communicating the results including thorough interpretation
Your experience/knowledge:
- Background in molecular biology, preferably in protein biochemistry with deep understanding of protein engineering
- Solid hands-on experience in cloning and recombinant protein expression
- Basic understanding of microbiology; familiarity with fermentation is desirable
- Exposure to library analysis via next-generation sequencing, generating genetic libraries, as well as experience in enzymology is a strong plus
- University degree in Molecular biology or other relevant field, or Lab Technician apprenticeship
- Language skills: English - fluent in written and spoken, German or French would be an advantage
